Just before 3pm on Sunday, the Center Moriches Fire Department Ambulance was requested to the scene of a house fire on Magnolia Drive in Mastic Beach.

The fire was reported at 2:42pm. Due to the strong winds the fire quickly spread throughout the 2 story home. When Mastic Beach Firefighters arrived on scene the house was fully engulfed. Additional firefighters were requested from the Mastic FD and Brookhaven FD to assist.

Center Moriches Fire Department sent an ambulance and CM EMT's assisted the Shirley Ambulance and South County Ambulance setting up firefighter rehab to monitor the firefighters working on scene.

There were no firefighter injuries reported. One occupant was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with burns. The Center Moriches Ambulance was back in service approx. 2 hours later.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Suffolk county arson and Mastic Beach Village Fire Marshal's office.
