Just after 9am Center Moriches firefighters and paramedics were requested to an auto accident with injuries on the west bound Sunrise Highway just west of Wading River Road.

Emergency personal arrived to find a vehicle overturned on the left shoulder of the highway.

While firefighters worked to secure the overturned vehicle EMT’s and paramedics treated the occupant and transported her to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Center Moriches Fire Police and State DOT assisted SCPD in making sure traffic was safely diverted around the accident scene.

The west bound lanes of Sunrise Highway was shut down for several hours while Suffolk County Police conducted their investigation.
