On Saturday December 12 2009 the Center Moriches Fire Department held its annual Holiday Parade of Lights.

This is the 25th year the Center Moriches FD has hosted the parade. The parade was full of floats, bands, community groups other fire & EMS companies, as well as Santa himself … Santa was brought into town with help from the Center Moriches Fire Department's Tower Ladder Truck.

The parade started at Montauk Hwy & Lake Ave and went straight down Main Street to Ocean Avenue. Thousands of people from near and far braved the extreme cold temperatures and lined the streets for as far as the eye could see.

The Fire Departments and EMS Agencies participating in the parade were Center Moriches FD, East Moriches FD, Eastport FD, Manorville FD, Mastic FD, Ridge FD, Yaphank FD and Rocky Point FD, Mastic Ambulance, East Moriches Ambulance, Manorville Ambulance and the Mastic Beach Ambulance.

Just prior to the start of the parade our judges review over a dozen floats and award trophies to the "best" floats. During the parade the winners of the trophies are announced and presented to them as they past the reviewing stand.
