On Thursday, October 10th, the Center Moriches Fire Department proudly opened its doors to welcome the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 18-06 from East Moriches.

Following the closure of the East Moriches Coast Guard Station for major renovations, the Auxiliary needed a place to conduct its monthly meetings. Given the strong partnership forged with U.S. Coast Guard Station Shinnecock in the development of our Marine Incident Response Team, it was only natural that we welcomed the Auxiliary with open arms.

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with such a dedicated group. Their presence brings not only camaraderie but also the chance for us to learn from one another. We look forward to sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, and training together while they are with us.

This collaboration will undoubtedly strengthen both organizations and enhance our shared mission of protecting and serving our maritime community.

During their first meeting at our firehouse, Center Moriches FD had the privilege of providing the Auxiliary members with training on fire extinguisher operations.

We look forward to many more opportunities for shared training and skill development in the future.
