Just before 1 PM on Monday, Center Moriches Firefighters were requested to assist the Westhampton Beach Fire Department in battling a brush fire along Sunrise Highway, near Exit 63.

CMFD responded with its brush truck and tanker, joining multiple other departments in efforts to contain and extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were on scene for over an hour before being released.
